I LOVE this fountain. Ugly, but sooo easy to clean.,
I’ve had this fountain for about a month. I have a dog that only wants to drink from toilets or the outside fountain. After spending days reading all the reviews I just coundn’t get over the cleaning instructions & tools that seem to accompany the others. Yes, they all seemed to have their ‘trick’ on how to get the dog to drink the water but how was I going to clean the darn thing? That aside, I’m cheap and some of the fountains are quite expensive! So I thought I’d give this one a try, here’s the breakdown:
LOVE:
* CLEANING, just like cleaning his normal water bowl. I take off the lid, pour the old water down the sink and wash it with soap & water. I’m sure it’s dishwater safe but why, it would take more time to undo the cord for the fountain than to hand wash.
* HUGE WATER CAPACITY. it holds more than any water bowl I’ve ever owned.
* PRICE. Can’t be beat from what I found + the single filter is an extra money saver.
* DOG ACTUALLY WILL DRINK WATER FROM DISH. Took some time. He still prefers the outside fountain, however, he’s drinking more than he did.
NOT SO MUCH:
* UGLY. That said, I surmise that it looks like the toilet he so loves. If it was in view of my guests, I’d paint the base black.
Still gets 5 stars. It does what I want – which was a fountain that’s easy to clean.

I’m very happy with this product. It arrived faster than expected.
Results: My dog does drink more frequently, and will now drink on command (but only with the fountain). Initially, my dog would get water down the wrong tube, and would find herself coughing after lapping up the water. Apparently, it was just a matter of learning how to approach the water, because she only coughs on occasion now. Have had this fountain for 2-4 weeks now. I am definitely pleased with my purchase. I like only having to add water, versus having to throw it out and replace everyday. Super convenient!
Oh, if there was any point of improvement, I would wish it was raised a little higher. I have put it on a step as a stand, but its lower than her original dog bowl when it was on its stand. My dog is a medium 30 lb dog, I think this would be a perfect height for a small dog. If your dog is used to drinking from a bowl on the floor however, then yes, this would be a definite improvement.
Note: this is not a round fountain. It’s more oval.
4 MONTHS LATER: I am more thrilled with this product. My dog LOOOVES it!! One day I locked my dog up in my room, with a simple bowl of water. When I got home and opened the door, she ran to the fountain, and drank like she hadn’t had water for days!!! She is spoiled, and only wants the best…. Note: she has not forgotton how to drink from a normal bowl, because she does frequently whenever we are outside the house. Apparently though if she is inside, she is only going to insist on the best…by her standards…And in this case, it is all about HER standards!!!

Over the years, I have used several different types of pet fountains.
I recently used to use the Dogit Fresh & Clear Drinking Fountain for Large Dogs for my dog and cat, which they both love. I saw this and thought it’d be nice to switch for a few reasons. One – my dog is not very tall, so his neck would get completely soaked when drinking from this fountain, and two – it was a major pain to clean.
This new design comes apart completely with the water sitting in the container below along with the water pump. It’s super easy to clean, and for that reason alone it makes it a worthwhile replacement. It doesn’t hold as much water as the larger one, but I still only need to refill it every few days.
The dog (pug) and cat (siamese) both love this one just as much as the old fountain, and with the lower height on this, it’s a much better product for them.
