The original Butter Bell crock keeps butter soft, delicious and spreadable for up to 30 days without refrigeration. Through the study of traditional and historical butter storage methods and hours of product development, L. This is my second one – a gift for a “foodie” friend who has every gadget known to man in his kitchen. He didn’t have this, had never heard of one. I love the decorative crock, and the English and French translation of “Butter” on either side.

It keeps butter at the perfect spreading temperature without exposing it to the air, dust or bugs (ew). It looks great and is perfectly at home on my countertop, dishwasher safe and I’ve even used the part that holds the butter to serve the butter on the dinner table. Because water surrounds the butter it stays cool enough not to melt in the summer and warm enough not to harden in the winter if you keep it away from a chilly window. It’s recommended that you change the water every other day though I’ve let it go as long as a week and the butter was still good, but not so fresh.

This is a nice, well made butter holder, but is a little smaller than I expected. It holds not quite a stick of butter, but it does keep the butter fresh, clean, and just right as far as spreadablity. Service from Amazon was gret! No problems.

I had never even seen a butter crock until recently, but a relative had one, and I thought it was great. No more using margarine, and the butter stays fresh for a long time. Plus, the butter crock is a lot cuter than the butter dishes I’ve seen. One side says “Butter,” and the other side says the French “Beurre.” I also liked the flower design, and it’s small enough to put it to the side when I don’t need it.
